Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Linden and McKinsie Ortegon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lindsey and McKinsie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We’re two local moms who love to create + curate + style. We’re also long-time friends who knew someday, we’d launch a business together. We established sprinkle + dot in August 2018 after seeing the tent party trend boom in Australia and England. Knowing Denver area families would embrace this innovative party concept, we wanted to curate themed tent parties with unmatched quality and style.

And, we KNOW us parents need EASY… we’ve all got busy schedules, loads of activities, and never enough time.

SO, we made party planning and sleepover hosting EASY!… and full of whimsy + wonder. We crafted Denver based sprinkle + dot to be your ‘party-in-the-box’ solution for birthdays, sleepovers, and celebrations. When you book your party, we do all the work — you simply open your door and provide the space.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our business launch hasn’t been perfectly “easy” but it’s been surprisingly smooth (and, super fun!). We’ve lived by one motto — “It doesn’t have to be perfect, just take the next step forward.” Both of us have personalities inclined towards perfection. We’re detail-oriented and want every element of our worlds to be lovely. Yet that is simply not achievable and we know it. That’s why we’ve intentionally made business decisions that get the work accomplished as opposed to achieving perfection.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with sprinkle + dot – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Curating themed tent parties for kids and teens, sprinkle + dot is a re-imagined party service providing the ultimate sleepover. Our tent parties are a ‘party-in-the-box’ perfect for birthday parties and sleepovers. And, though we’re not the only company in Colorado offering this type of service, we take pride in a few things that set us apart from the rest. One, the value we provide to our customers is unmatched — our party inventory consists of high-quality items, our styling is superior (yes, we’re biased!), and our pricing is competitive. Secondly, we make the entire process EASY! We offer online scheduling and a wide selection of party extras saving moms time by delivering cupcakes, party favors, and the like!

Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
Truthfully, we don’t encounter barriers — we are pretty confident mom bosses! The greatest challenge for us as we’ve launched our business is balancing our time. Being industry leaders and successful businesswomen takes time. As moms to young kiddos, we’re working every day to maintain joyfully (and, let’s be honest, sometimes simply functional) homes and balance all the other aspects of life. And, building a blossoming business is one of those aspects.
