Life and Work with Natalie Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Thomas.

Natalie fell into the beauty industry unexpectedly. While living in San Diego, she realized college wasn’t for her and decided to enroll in cosmetology school, focusing her creative energy on hair. Her fearless attitude and willingness to take on new challenges led her down another path as well: makeup. Realizing she had a love for makeup as much as hair, she decided to perfect her talents at both, offering what few other stylists can: a complete, finished, overall look.

After 12 years working in salons and for various makeup lines, she once again unexpectedly stumbled upon a new path in her career. Natalie and her sister, Laura formed Rollers & Rouge after realizing there was a huge demand for on-site bridal beauty services. Growing up with a single mom, Natalie and Laura, understood the value of hard work and “a good deal”. R & R was created with the intent of providing quality services at affordable rates. After parting ways in 2014, Natalie has continued operating R & R with the original intent, bringing our brides outstanding service at reasonable prices.

Has it been a smooth road?
I feel like it’s been a fairly smooth road, considering my background. I’ve had to learn how to run a business and manage employees, but I’ve been really fortunate with the stylists that help me out! I have an amazing team and as the business has grown, we’ve all have learned and grown together.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rollers & Rouge – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We pride ourselves on providing high-quality service and work at an affordable price. We feel that every bride should afford to feel beautiful on her wedding day and we want our prices to reflect that.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
I believe trusting yourself, staying true to your vision and growing when you’re ready is so important when you’re trying to execute. Having a mentor or someone you can trust to turn to when you’re doubting yourself as support is crucial, too!
