Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Stevens.
Samantha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been a daddy’s girl – which may seem like a weird way to start a story about a business but really it is essential in knowing the motivation behind the entire story.
I originally went to school to be a lawyer which lead me to earn my Masters in Judicial and Legal Administration through DU Law. From there, I moved to work in the courts and eventually to being the Legal Administrator for a small firm here in Denver. Life was good and I was moving into the career path that I thought was going to be a life long path. One of the major functions of my job was managing the marketing campaigns of the firm and bringing in leads utilizing the internet and social media. Two years into this dream job – I got a call that my father had been in a car accident and they didn’t believe he was going to make it. Two hours later – my grandmother called and said that the courts were requesting someone take charge of his affairs.
I flew out to North Carolina and became the legal guardian of my father at 29 years old.
The next few years consisted of juggling the responsibilities of running law and taking care of my father full time. We moved him to Colorado to make things easier and as his health continued to railroad it became obvious that I was not going to be able to continue to maintain everything.
So out of necessity, I started looking at my life and Bewitched Business Services was born. I looked at all the aspects of my job and thought about what I enjoyed. Marketing became the obvious choice because it was my favorite part of the job.
I decided to start building my company in the evenings first before taking it full time in January. While running the law firm and my own business, I also went back to school to get my certifications in marketing – earning my degree in Front End and Back End Website Design, a certificate in Google Ads, a certificate in Facebook Ads, and other classes to help expand my knowledge base.
In January 2019 – I left the law firm and launched my business full time. It has been an amazing ride and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Someone once told me that entrepreneurship is a roller coaster – and I have found that my path has been that way. I have been lucky to have some amazing mentors and friends, though who have pushed me along. Some of the great advice they gave me is :
– Never stop learning. Read all the books you can, listen to the podcast, and absorb their knowledge any chance you get.
– To get results – you just need to keep making small steps each day towards your goal.
– Know exactly what the goal will be and what small victories you will need to get there.
– Believe that everything will be okay – no matter what it looks like right now.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Bewitched Business Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

My favorite part of the model is that it allows even the smallest business an opportunity to get more clients in the door.
There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
Talk to everyone. – you never know who will be able to teach you what and who knows you.
Go to at least one networking event a week and have at least three, one on one meeting a week.
Be sure EVERYONE knows what you do and how they can help.
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there – that is how you will attract people.
