Life & Work with Christina Packard of Loveland Colorado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Packard

Hi Christina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Made Mindful was founded by three moms who are passionate about the magnificence of birth and the total transformation that takes place as parents. As we have embarked on these journeys, our sisterhood has been an invaluable source of strength; but not every new mother has support. We have created a place for new and experienced moms to journey together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many obstacles along the way, and each day we have to choose to keep dedicating ourselves to the cause. When we first started, there was a steep learning curve—figuring out the best tools, materials, and processes to create our online courses. There were also moments of trial and error, especially when it came to social media and our offerings.

Beyond the technical side, running a small business means wearing many hats—marketing, customer service, production, and logistics—all while juggling personal and family life. There were times when life happens.

Another major learning experience has been setting up an online presence and understanding what works best for growth. But despite the hurdles, each challenge has helped me refine my skills, streamline my workflow, and build a stronger foundation for the business. The support from customers and the joy of creating something unique make it all worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am one of the founders of the business, and have the most rewarding job, of caring for our six children which is more than a full time job. Nearly every time I shop I have a full cart. I try to shop without my children, now that 4 of my 5 are in school full time – which allows more room in my teeny tiny push buggy, but grocery shopping for a family of 7 and 16 animals (most of which eat fresh produce and fruits) can be a daunting adventure. If you’re like me, you may feel like you live at your local market. It’s a unique job to be all of the things for one family – a cook, cleaner, car driver and care giver. I’m set apart from others because I choose to be the primary care giver for our family!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
As a mom of six, the COVID-19 crisis reinforced just how important adaptability and resilience are—not just for me, but for my entire family. When everything shut down, we had to quickly adjust to new routines, remote learning, and the constant presence of everyone at home. It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me to embrace flexibility, let go of perfection, and find joy in the little moments.

One of the biggest lessons was recognizing the true value of time together, and carving out moments that we could each have time alone. With all the usual activities and commitments suddenly gone, we had the rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and create memories in ways we hadn’t before. It reminded me that sometimes, less is more, and that a simple game night or a backyard picnic can be just as meaningful as a big event.

I also learned how crucial it is to extend grace—to myself, my kids, and others. The pandemic brought a lot of stress and uncertainty, and there were moments when we all struggled. But through it, I realized the importance of focusing on what really matters: our health, our relationships, and the ability to support each other through tough times.
