Life & Work with Michael Boden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Boden.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started fishing and doing other Outdoors Activities when I was pretty young. I have been fishing for as long as I remember, but it used to be more of a way to hang out with my Dad. In 2020 I reconnected with a friend, Brayden, whom I hadn’t seen in over 10 years and we went on a small fishing trip that seemed to reignite my enjoyment of fishing.

A month later my friend Joseph and I went on a fishing trip for Memorial Day weekend and have since been going fishing as often as possible. As of April 2022, I have been posting outdoor excursions where I am occasionally accompanied by some friends or family on these trips.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t always a smooth road. It is tough trying to balance schedules. Trying to grow my YouTube so I can eventually turn it into a brand, as well as being a full-time college student and needing to make an income as well has been tough. It is hard to find time to maintain a consistent schedule with DropShot Outdoors when I am consistently very busy.

It also was a rocky road at first as this journey was one where my friends were planned to be more at the forefront than what had happened. We all found the balances we needed, and I took over DropShot. It continues to be a tough road to be on, but it is one that is well worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am primarily a creator for this brand I am trying to build; however, the ultimate goal is to turn this into a business. I am currently going to school at Pikes Peak State College to earn a degree in Outdoor Leadership. I have done a lot of work as an employee in the past, but I would like to run this business.

I am most proud of how hard I work. I am starting to see a little bit of payoff from the effort I have put in for DropShot. I think my hard work is what sets me apart from others. I have always valued the effort I put in and the quality of work I am capable of.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would say that whatever your dream is, find a way to make it happen. It takes a lot of hard work to make a dream come true, but the journey to make it happen is worth it. Though I am still on my journey, it has allowed me to grow and has motivated me to achieve it even more.
