Meet Kali Pearson of Aim To Thrive Nutrition in West Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kali Pearson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kali. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As I sit back and think about how far I have come to find my true calling and passion, I smile ear to ear!

Growing up in CO and in a health-conscious, active family began my bountiful fondness for nutrition and not just looking at the surface, but wanting to dig deep to know all the why’s of what was going on inside the body. Therefore, studying nutrition and becoming a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist only seemed natural.

It typically takes, four years to complete a bachelor’s degree at a school credited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) with rigorous science classes, then a year internship to complete all of the work in a CADE-accredited practice program (example: clinical, community, food service, etc.), then a state board exam and of course continuing education to keep up with your credentials.

Welp, I kept telling myself once I passed Organic Chemistry and Physiology/Anatomy that I would continue moving forward. And after finally making it through my internship and passing the exam, I felt relief knowing I was going to be able to physically and mentally impact so many people!

After spending many years working specifically with physicians in Gestational Diabetes, PCOS, Pregnancy and other hormonal changes and gaining my Certified Diabetes Educator license and becoming a mom myself, this has lead to the yearning of wanting to start my own business, so I could spend time focusing on the WHOLE person.

And NOW being able to share everything I have learned and continue to learn not only professionally, but personally in the comfort of my own business, Aim To Thrive Nutrition, with a focus on functionally healing from the inside out, I am able to come alongside many other soon to be moms and moms in guiding them hand in hand to be the best version of themselves!

Aim To Thrive Nutrition, was a thought and a dream to start many years ago and it was with the courage of family, friends and God that I am able to pour into other moms and provide them with the needed support and love through each transition.

Has it been a smooth road?
Oh my gosh, I still have less than a year under my belt and it has been “HARD” to say the least, so rewarding, but challenging. Running a business, a home and a family is not for the faint of heart!

One of my biggest struggles as a Dietitian/Biz Owner, is only being offered 1 business course throughout all the classes I took in college and jumping off on your own, people can NOT say they understand until they run a biz themselves. Doing everything from creating my own website on WordPress (my husband would say I am not super tech savvy… LOL) to creating all my marketing materials, marketing, creating my signature offerings and programs to not forgetting I still have to have daily breaks and be mindful myself, it’s been a huge undertaking.

But if you were to ask me if I would change or go back, nope, not one minute, it has made me grow in ways I never thought possible and it’s an AMAZING example to my girls of what women are capable of and that you can do anything you put your heart and mind too! I have been so thankful thus far from all the support from past co-workers, best friends, family and most of all my husband and kids:) There is nothing like your 6 yr old looking up at you and saying, “Mom I will pray for you all day that you will bring in some more clients to keep your business running.”

Please tell us about Aim To Thrive Nutrition.
Aim To Thrive Nutrition was started to help other soon to be moms and moms to stop spinning their wheels trying to understand what “eat healthy, don’t gain too much weight and take your prenatal” really means, how to handle the extreme fatigue that one takes on when becoming a mom, empowering women to take time EVERY DAY to practice mindfulness and movement and how to create wholesome, simple meals that will provide all the energy you need to complete all the daily momma tasks.

Aim To Thrive Nutrition focuses in on healthful, simple, real foods, movement, daily mindfulness and community, which are significant in providing the needed energy and strength to keep up with all the wonderful duties of motherhood. Everything is conducted virtually in the comfort of your own home or at work or on the go, so there is not the stress of one more appointment!

Aim To Thrive Nutrition specializes in Gestational Diabetes with emphasizing on not just understanding what your body and baby’s body is going through, but guiding one in coming up with a plan that will fit their personal needs and goals to feel their best throughout pregnancy and postpartum too!

Aim To Thrive Nutrition prides itself in personalized care, taking the time to dig deep and heal from the inside-out all the while listening whole hardheartedly and walking hand in hand to guide baby and you in feeling Healthier and Happier!

My motto is a Healthier, Happier MOMMA.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, as a functional Dietitian, I see many more Dietitians taking the time like I did to do extra certifications like the LEAP (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) to be able to conduct MRT food sensitivity tests and micro-nutrient testing to continue to further understand our clients complexity and by understanding each individual’s needs, we can then use food as a tool to heal the body. I also see our industry continuing to move in a more virtual way, so that we can continue to support other health professionals, but don’t cause the stress of having to go to another appointment.

Personally and professionally, I am SLOWLY delegating various tasks like website management and some social media things, and I would love to add at least 1-2 other Functional Dietitians over the next few years and I just want to keep spreading the word that mommas are so loved and I can’t wait to continue to keep my mind and heart open to where this business goes!
