Meet Alexis Alvis

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Alvis. Alexis was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Lisa Conway.

Alexis, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with the world of fashion and design. If I wasn’t creating highlights on my best friend Molly with sun-in spray, I was braiding my entire team’s hair on the bus to away games. I started doing event hair for the local dances and weddings when I was in Jr high and have loved expanding my craft ever since. I have been licensed for 13 years and have had the ultimate pleasure of working under some amazing mentors such as Jill Leitz, Randy Tuff, and now Lisa Conway. In those 13 years, I have worked in the Denver/Boulder area and have made such an amazing family of clients.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
The best part of being a creator is the constant change and new experience each day offers. I love working with new color formulas, and experimenting with new styles and products. Outside of the services I provide, I’d have to say the most rewarding part of my job is the experience I share with each individual. Being able to jump inside your client’s imagination with them, and then seeing their joy of the result feels like Christmas morning every time. There’s always a good story, lots of laughter, and even a little singing going on at all times. Above all, I really care about providing a safe, inclusive, and celebratory space for everyone that sits in my chair.

As you know, we’re big fans of Lisa Conway and Vantage Salon we know you’ve worked with them quite a bit as well. We’d love to hear about your experience working with Lisa Conway.
I really have the universe to thank for this incredible opportunity to work at Vantage! I met Lisa through her husbands recording studio, Conway sound, where I’ve been singing since 2018. As a vocalist, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect set up having the salon and studio back to back like this! Pinch me! Haha I have been blessed to be her “co-star” since January 2021 and have grown so much in our short time together.

Lisa’s passion is present in every little detail. from the epic ceiling mural above the back bar to the partnership with green solution salons where we recycle everything we use!

Working alongside Lisa has gifted me in many ways, but I am most grateful for her continued support and encouragement to be the best I can be. Its seldom in this industry to have a boss that truly believes in you and wants to help you succeed in all aspects of your life. She celebrates my wild style, encourages my random salon singing, and never asks me to be anything but myself.
