Meet Allison Wolfstar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Wolfstar.

Allison, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was working as an EMT going to school for nursing to continue on to nurse practitioners. During my school process, I realized I wanted to offer more to people then what I was being taught in my current schooling. This is where I found Chinese medicine.

This school of thought and ancient healing called to me. I applied to the master’s program and couldn’t wait to begin. After graduating and taking time to pass my boards, I knew I wanted to specialize in Family medicine, including pregnancy support and pediatrics. I now work out of Bodyworks Massage Center eager to continue my journey and offer alternative medicine to the public.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was not as easy a path as I hoped. In fact, the road was quite bumpy. While in school, I became a widow, a huge impact and life-changing moment in life that will forever be with me. I decided to stick with the program and continued through school, eventually taking one semester off so I could recollect myself. Fast forward a year later, I met someone amazing and by the end of my program, during clinics, I found out that I was pregnant. So instead of the dream I had of sailing through my master’s program, passing my boards, and opening a clinic right away, I became a widow and then a mom. Becoming a mom became a bigger dream and goal than I could have ever imagined. In truth, the road wasn’t bumpy, it wasn’t even paved yet. Even though this wasn’t what was first envisioned, I wouldn’t change it. It may have taken me a while to get where I am, but I am here.

We’d love to hear more about your practice.
I am a board-certified licensed acupuncturist. I am also a HypnoBirthing Child Birth Educator and a certified lactation counselor. I am currently in a program to be a certified nutrition consultant for pregnancy, postpartum, and baby’s firsts. I work in Family medicine, pediatrics, pregnancy support, and sports health. I am most proud to be able to provide alternative medicine to anyone who needs it.
