Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Berube.
Amanda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a young military wife living in Hawaii, I found myself so in love with the island and scenery, that I could never put my phone down. I was always taking photographs of the beaches, it’s history, the architecture and my friends. I had taken photography classes in high school and college, so I decided to jump back in and see where photography would take me on the island. I explored and experimented with different niches until we ended up in Georgia, where I started second shooting for an amazing wedding photographer who also shot film. After my first wedding experience with her, I knew I had found what I loved to photograph the most and my outlook on photography had changed completely. Weddings, authentic love and meaningful moments were all I wanted to capture. My film journey had also begun there as well. As hard as I fell for wedding photography, I became head of heels for film! I researched, studied and learned more about this beautiful form of art and then completely immersed myself in film photography. The rest is history and I couldn’t have gotten as far as I am without the amazing support of my wonderful family and friends!
Has it been a smooth road?
Being in a military family and moving every couple of years has been the most challenging. Relocating a business and moving away from vendors and connections that have turned into family and friends is the hardest. Thats why I’m so immensely excited about being in Colorado because my husband will have medically retired from the military and we can settle and grow roots in this gorgeous state!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Amanda Berube Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
As a wedding photographer, I strive to document the genuine and authentic emotions and moments that unfold on one of the happiest days in a couples life. Using film and digital mediums, every detail is captured to help tell the story of my client’s gorgeous day. I love being apart of weddings and the process of curating the day of. Outside of photography, I will help and be involved with as little or as much is needed to ensure my client’s wedding day goes as smoothly and beautifully as possible. I offer a variety of different wedding collections and also photograph portrait, engagement, bridal and boudoir sessions.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The wedding industry is constantly changing so it’s hard to say. I do think smaller more intimate weddings will become more and more popular.
