Meet Ana Cohan and Janet Langmeier of Rising Tide Business Network

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Cohan, Janet Langmeier.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ana, Janet. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Janet and I started talking about having a different kind of networking experience over a year ago. We wanted to bring people together in an environment of giving, of sharing from the heart, of supporting dreams.

People do business with people they like and trust. We wanted to give members time to get to know each other and form a community based on giving.

Through the ages, it has been proven that Success Principles, applied with intention, will generate desired results! Basic to those principles is the Law of Giving & Receiving, and what is networking if not giving and receiving?

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth road. In September 2018 we started with a weekly breakfast meeting. Our biggest challenge was finding a central location to meet. Our core members enjoyed the breakfast meeting, and feedback from guests indicated interest in a lunchtime meeting. In June of 2019, we launched our twice-monthly lunch meetings. We also continued with our weekly breakfast meetings. Our breakfast meetings are held in a restaurant, but our lunch meetings are held at New Dawn Center for Spiritual Living. Getting timely RSVP’s to estimate how much food we need for lunch has presented a new learning curve.

Please tell us about Rising Tide Business Network.
We are a business and community network. We believe that everyone brings value, connections, ideas and interests.

Our meetings are structured with small groups at small tables so that members have time to really listen to and hear each other. We begin with setting Intention for the meeting and agree to bring qualities and attributes to our time together.

The Member Spotlight at our breakfast meetings provides members opportunity to hone their presentation and speaking skills.

We invite outside speakers to our twice-monthly lunch meetings. We are very proud of the feedback from our members and guests about the experiences that they have at the meetings, the quality of the speakers, and the growing number of new guests.

Lift Up and Celebrate with Gratitude is a time to acknowledge the good in our lives and share our gratitude with each other. Members throw a dollar (or more) into the Gratitude Bowl while sharing their good fortune. All the money in the Gratitude Bowl each week is donated to Colorado Feeding Kids, a Colorad501(c)(3).

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
When we started this, our intention was to grow this community organically. We are constantly learning about marketing platforms. Learning more about marketing before we started would have been helpful.
