Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Marone.
Angie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
11 years ago, I started with five ladies working out in a park, doing some boot camp workouts. In that time, we have grown to over 100+ clients.
It all started with boot camp classes and eventually, we added other classes such as Kickboxing, Power Core and Rhythmic Cardio. I wanted a place that all women could come and find what fitness style fits their personality best. I also wanted a place where women could come and feel like themselves. No pressure to be someone else, just to be their best and feel their best.
I now consider us (as do many of my clients) a community or family, not just a workout studio. All of my clients come together to have fun, develop friendships and get in a great workout and that is what truly matters to me.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Over the course of the past 11 years, there have been some ups and downs for sure. Running your own business is not easy, it takes a lot of hard work and consistency. We have made many different moves over the past 11 years, always looking for that spot that would work best. With each move, there were cost increases, etc. But every time I have pulled through and made it work. Even when I thought I might have to close our doors, I looked for ways to bring in more clients to keep that from happening. When I started this business, I told myself that closing my doors was never going to be an option, so I knew I just had to find a way to make it work and so far it has.
Please tell us about Fit Chick Express.
Fit Chick Express is more than just a workout studio. It’s something that I built from nothing into a community of women who want to feel good about themselves.
Because we only offer classes to women, we are able to focus on all the things that women want and need to create their own version of a healthy lifestyle. We offer a lot of variety of classes so that each woman is able to find what works best for them and one that makes them feel strong and proud of what they are doing for their bodies and their health!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. Every class, every client, every year has been something that I cherish and have learned from. From the struggles to the triumphs, they all brought me to where I am today and for that, I am so grateful.
