Meet Anya Payne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anya Payne.

Anya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my business in college when my mom connected me to some of the best business and personal mentors I could have ever asked for. At the time, I was going to school, a collegiate athlete and working three part-time jobs. I was a political science major with an international relations minor and had some pretty big goals and plans for my life. There was a part of me that was hopeful for my future but I had no idea how I was going to accomplish any of my dreams and what route was best for me.

Over the past six years, I can attribute any and all of my success to mentors, personal development and my ever-growing relationship with God. The biggest blessing has been people who are willing to show me the way and help me become the person God designed me to be!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road and anyone who tells you success is easy is simply lying or not willing to be vulnerable with you. I’ll also say, although it hasn’t been a smooth road and hasn’t gone exactly how I thought it would, I wouldn’t change any of it! Growth and change is hard. Learning new things is challenging.

In the beginning, and the biggest struggle for me has been breaking the mold of the status quo. My relationships have always been incredibly important to me and when I began doing things differently or outside of the norm I could see friendships ending and morphing, and that was painful. I had always been a bit of a people pleaser and when close friends/ family didn’t understand what changes I was making or questioned why I was in pursuit of my dreams I really had to dig deep and understand that not everyone was heading where God was taking me. Breaking off relationships that were no longer positive was and has been the biggest struggle for me during this journey.

Please tell us about Payne International and Bella Magari Boutique.
Our company has created the ultimate travel club community offering unique experiences anytime, anywhere. We provide customized travel opportunities and valuable deals at restaurants, clubs and luxury hotels. We’re known as the “great experiences company” and I love that our main goal is to help individuals and families create memories and check items off their bucket lists! Most people won’t remember what they got for a birthday or Christmas but everyone remembers the vacations they’ve taken with friends and family. Those experiences are what last a lifetime!

What sets us apart from other travel companies is our commitment to excellence and “under promising but over delivering” and more importantly treating everyone like family! I’ve never been a part of a more inclusive and supportive culture than I have with our company and through this journey, I have built the most incredible friendships!

Another exciting business venture has been becoming a co-owner with my best friend and launching an online women’s clothing boutique. Danielle Greco started Bella Magari last year and recently asked me to hop on board and help expand the brand. We’re excited to bring high-quality apparel to women but more importantly create a community that is supportive, uplifting and impactful. In the near future, we hope to partner with several nonprofits and use Bella Magari as a catalyst to bring value to others.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood was a trip my mom and I took to Kenya and South Africa to visit friends and go on safari. As I said, I can’t remember what I got for my 10th birthday but I SO vividly remember seeing an elephant knock down a tree just feet from our safari van and the pack of lions resting in the shade. It was the most unique experience I have ever had an am so thankful my mom made travel a priority!
