Meet Apolo Sevilla of American Dream Mortgage in Tech Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Apolo Sevilla.

Apolo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I guess it all started after I decided to attend university in the United States; you see, I am originally from Mexico City and after high school, I had to make a choice between the UK and the US. Since my grandmother was originally from Milwaukee, WI the choice to move to the US was essentially made for me.

Throughout my life I have worn many different hats; Nineteen years ago, I closed my first residential home loan in Denver, CO. 14 years ago I did my first fix and flip. And during the financial crisis of 2007-08, my older brother and I built, designed and managed a very successful and intimate nightclub in Scottsdale, AZ for four years. Our main focus was booking world-class celebrity DJ’s almost on a weekly basis. We had the privilege to host names like Armin Van Buuren, Sander Kleinenberg, Freddy Le Grad and many other high caliber DJ’s and celebrities of the time. We basically broke even during those big special nights, but it sure gave us national recognition while putting a big smile on our patrons to see such big acts in such an intimate venue.

After Scottsdale, I moved back to Mexico and partnered with a marketing company that managed and operated sales for one of the largest hotel chains and real estate developers in the country. For the next 4 years I expand my expertise in business development relative to sales and marketing for that industry. Fast forward to today, I am once again back in beautiful CO and partnered up for the second time with my developer friend who I flipped my first home with years back. I also renewed my mortgage advisor’s license and are back in business with American Dream Mortgage.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe real estate creates security and security creates peace of mind. People who know me have heard me say this before: “No matter how big or how small, how fancy or how modest, having four walls and a roof over your head is not only a great investment; It is the foundation to personal security and peace of mind for you and your family”. As a certified mortgage planning specialist and real estate developer, I pride myself in paying-it-forward by sharing my knowledge and experience with like-minded individuals, so I can be the best possible resource for YOU! My story of success has definitely had its ups and down. As many of us in the business, I lost my entire real estate portfolio in 07 and have worked hard to rebuild it into what it is today. The key for me was to cut my losses and keep moving forward no matter what. If you work hard, have integrity and manage your time wisely, there’s nothing stopping you!

Please tell us about American Dream Mortgage.
