Meet Autumn Corin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Corin

Hi Autumn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hey everyone! My name is Autumn Corin. I am a 22 year old R&B recording artist originally from Queens. NY. I have lived many places, seen many things… but the one constant through it all has always been my passion for music. I’ve been singing since I was in diapers, but really started pursuing it professionally around my senior year of high school (2020), and have been at it ever since. I was always the kid in choir, theatre, or any extracurricular that had some element of music. I always strived to get **THE** solo, the lead role, and be the best there could possibly be. There’s never been a “plan b” in my head… music has always been it!

I began doing content on social media back in 2018 and grew my following steadily with every cover I could think of. From there, I signed to an independent record label named “Zooted Music” based in LA and began releasing my own music. It has been nothing short of an amazing journey. However, after a rough 2024, I am looking forward to continuing to spread my wings and find my spark again – on a much more vulnerable scale!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been the furthest from smooth… rocky like the mountains, in fact! I still struggle to this day, but I try to remind myself that the journey is the most beautiful part of it all. No risk, no reward. I can’t imagine a life without music, so I try to put things into perspective when overcoming hardships and doubts.

One of my biggest struggles as of late has been confidence. It’s hard to pursue a path in the entertainment industry, let alone as a young woman trying her best to navigate it. Recently, my “motto” has been “comparison is the thief of joy”- I’ve allowed myself to get in my own way, especially this last year, and I recognize that. I know that I’m my biggest critic, which can be a blessing AND a curse… but it’s definitely more of a curse!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in singing, writing, and arranging R&B music – all day, everyday! It’s always been my favorite genre – its unique blend of sounds, melodies, harmonies, lyrics, etc, have always touched me in a way no other genre has. Don’t get me wrong, I love ALL kinds of music, but there’s just something about R&B!

I’m most known for my smooth tone, clever melismas, nostalgic sound, and fresh vibe in music. I like to think I encompass all that’s good and left of R&B today… the roots, of course, but the zest and and passion to keep it alive/modern, as well. I am most proud of my ability to sing just about anything and pour my heart out into my music. I believe it’s a true gift and blessing to be able to do so.

I think the thing that sets me apart from others the most is the grip that I have on the trends – I know how to take something that’s popular and spin it into my own, unique thing. Sure, there’s lots of people who can do this in their own right, but my way is something special!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am not a huge risk taker – I prefer to think and plan everything that I possibly can. Of course, this is rarely ever possible in the entertainment industry, since you always have to stay ready for what’s thrown your way. I think that me making the decision to finally release my own music was a huge risk for me in and of itself, because it meant that I was really throwing myself out there. It’s such a vulnerable, beautiful thing, but definitely scary. I’d love to be more of a risk-taker… again, no risk no reward! I want to carry that energy with me all of 2025 and beyond!
