Meet Avery Gollnick

Today we’d like to introduce you to Avery Gollnick.

Avery, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Grew up in southern Oregon, on a farm in a small town. Moved to Colorado in 2015 to go to CU Boulder. After graduating from college I moved straight to move deeper into working with Denver Hip-Hop artists.

I’ve shot video all across the world and have spent thousands of hours teaching myself a swiss army knife of skills including music producing, recording, engineering, cinematography, video editing, VFX, 3D modeling, texturing, and many other media-based skills. By the time you read this, I’ll have a video out with a Denver Hip-Hop legend Trayce Chapman, should be one of the best videos to ever come out of Colorado. In talks with other legends like Trev Rich about projects coming soon.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
A bunch of struggle every day since the beginning. I started making videos about 10 years ago and I haven’t fully believed in this mission until recently. Ran into a lot of people trying to bring me down, especially in college. Most of my support today are from Denver natives.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am known for music videos/visuals, especially in Hip-Hop. I do normal street, Worldstar type videos, but also take them a lot further with fully animated 3D visuals. I have a heavy VFX background which allows me to take visuals further than the average shooter. I am looking forward to creating more fully or mostly animated projects to show the world that when you work with me, you’re getting something bigger than your average video.

3d Animation: ~$200 per 15 seconds
Commercial: $40 per hour
