Meet Becca Copeland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Copeland.

Becca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My health, my career, my marriage, and my relationship with my children was falling apart and I was lying to myself and everyone else that my life was fantastic. In 2014, I turned 40 and the mother of 4 children (14, 12, 6, and 4), a corporate vp for a financial firm, I drank way too much (I was dependent on it), I was on prescription medications for high blood pressure, anti-anxiety, depression, and on the days when I couldn’t keep it together Xanax and sprinkle in a nicotine habit that went from social use to a One Pod a day Juul addiction. I knew at this point I needed to get real with myself and start making real changes with myself or I was going to die.

I had developed an unhealthy relationship with alcohol my family would probably say I was an alcoholic. I know I was dependent on it and the thought of it not being in my life was terrifying. Gratefully, I live in the beautiful state of Colorado and in 2012 Cannabis became legal for Adult Use.

On my 40th Birthday, I made my first visit to a dispensary and that day would transform my life and would be the beginning of my wellness journey.

By the end of 2015, I released my career, the prescription medications, the alcohol and sugar. In 2016, I became a Health Coach and dove into the Cannabis industry starting my own business with in-home cannabis parties, educating about Cannabis and selling cannabis accessories; working at dispensaries as budtender and assistant manager, tour guide for a cannabis tour company, and finally selling advertisement for an online cannabis radio station In 2017, I released nicotine, got divorced and started my business Own Your Wellness, and my Juice Plus Virtual Franchise. I was fueled with passion to educate others and reveal the truth to others about Cannabis and whole plant lifestyles.

Own Your Wellness is empowering others to own their wellness through sustainable plant-based lifestyle

Has it been a smooth road?
Oh My NO! These past few years have been some of the hardest years of my transformation. My motto is the right choice is not always the easy choice.

Quitting my career was one of the scariest things I did because I really didn’t have a plan. I knew I wanted more balance in my life between my family and my career and I wanted my family to come first. I have been walking this path ever since I quit and I love my new balance.

The other scary moment was making the decision to get divorced. I knew this was what I wanted however I was making a decision that was going to impact my children deeply and change the world they knew.

Today, my children and I have created our new family dynamic and feel I am closer with my children because of choices to start taking control of my wellness.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Own Your Wellness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

I am most proud of all the people who have supported and encouraged me along the way when I wanted to quit.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the people. I have lived in Colorado my whole life and I have met people from all over the world and haven’t had to leave. People are attracted to the beautiful energy Denver provides, it is progressive and open to change.

I dislike the traffic which creates a lot of potholes. I am grateful I can plan my days around the heavy times.
