Meet Bernard Quisumbing of Ready Now Records in Erie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernard Quisumbing.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bernard. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Celebrating 13 years of sobriety after a 14 years long bout with addiction to meth and cocaine. Moved to Colorado in 2006 with the hopes of getting my life back! By God’s grace and the craziest string of miracles, I was freed from my addiction. After applying to 43 different places in three days, a small family-owned car dealership gave me a shot. Been with the same company since and selling cars changed the financial trajectory of my life. During that time, I took a break from making music. Got married to the most amazing woman in the world, then came back to music in 2017. Became a father in 2018 at the age of 40 to my little girl. Finished writing a book about sales called “Stop Selling. SERVE! And Get Paid What You’re Worth”. Now creating music about the journey that’s designed to motivate and inspire.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all… but it’s been an amazing mountain to fall off of and climb back up again… lol

I’ve struggled with suicidal depression, insecurities, obesity, poverty, infidelity, greed, jealousy and anger but have spent the last 13 years in both surrender and mission to overcome every one of those inner battles.

However, I realized that focusing on the inner battles made everything external super easy in comparison.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
In the car business working at Boulder Hyundai, I’m known as the #mostlovedcarsalesman. And what truly sets me apart is that I do this to SERVE each and every one of my customers with the highest level of customer service, high energy, fun, and care.

In dealing with the music, I write and rap positive inspirational songs with a ridiculously high level of energy both in the studio and on the stage. The thing is, it’s not positive preachy music… nor is it lame watered down positive polly raps. I’ve been through the ringer… this is the rough, fucked up journey, the hard work, the spiritual surrenders, to the amazing outcomes that I rap about!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The foooooood!!!!!!!! I love the food!!!!! and the art…

Least… the traffic. But honestly, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
