Meet Bog Scraper of Bogscraper Artworks in Westminster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bog Scraper.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bog. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I decided I wanted to be an artist at six years old. Originally, I just wanted to sculpt, paint, however, found its way into my life.
For the last few years, I have combined the two.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I discovered not that long ago, just how fortunate I was as a young artist.
My family supported and encouraged my artwork with supplies, lessons, and trips to galleries and museums.
The business of art is the most problematic aspect of art for me.
Art is a part of life, and life has its ups and downs, it’s thick and thin, art is going to as well. Just have to ride the waves and take what you can as inspiration.

Please tell us more about your artwork, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I basically create painted sculpture these days.
Playing with a 3D pen and sobriety brought me to using hot glue and plaster as a prep for canvas. It’s still evolving.
I like to think my work is unique while also revealing my influences. Geiger, Dali, and Bosch I think are more than obvious.
I most proud of the time and effort I put into my work. I’m not interested in mass production.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would love to be able to make a full-time living from my artwork, that’s sort of a given. I’m always working towards that goal, even though it’s secondary.
The primary goal is to keep stepping up to the next level, to keep producing better and different work.
I plan to keep pushing myself and trying to get folks to push themselves.
