Today we’d like to introduce you to Bounce Ball Boogie.
Bounce, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The journey Bounce Ball Boogie has been on started almost a quarter of a century ago. The ’90s were just getting started and rap was taking over in new ways due to the rising popularity of west coast gangster rap. Bounce Ball Boogie knew he had the skills, and went for it. Making a name for himself in the Colorado scene, Bounce Ball Boogie has risen through the ranks as an indie artist to prove his worth. Approaching his 25th year in the game, he’s still as passionate as ever with new, exciting endeavors on the way.
An astonishing style when it comes to flow from chopping to storytelling gives the listener pure entertainment to a question of what’s to come next. Bounce Ball Boogie is a rollercoaster of emotion, with the development of a positive message embedded into a negative format. His run-ins with the law and his past association with gangs have given him a lot to say, but also a lot to appreciate about the life he’s made for himself since turning things around. His style has been described as everything from traditional gangster rap to horrorcore but at the end of the day, he is delivering raw hip-hop at its finest.
Raw hip-hop that has been performed locally throughout Colorado, south through Texas, west in California as well as in Ohio, Illinois, and New Mexico. He’s done everything from headline to open for KRS-ONE, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Lil Flip, and Twisted Insane. Currently, Bounce Ball Boogie is working on new music, arranging performances and plotting a YouTube takeover – among other opportunities.
Has it been a smooth road?
Money! I found money to be the hardest part of becoming an independent artist. I got so caught up with trying to figure out the business of music on my own that I forgot to be what I truly am. An Artist! I find many of my peers, especially now younger artists that are 18-19 and have their minds set on conquering the world, are targets for scam artists and I was one of those victims. So now, I am shifting my focus into the music business side of things to help upcoming artists properly by being the person that I wish I would have had coming up in my younger days.
Please tell us about your work.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Denver with all my heart and soul for it will always be apart of me. Although my experience with Denver would be allotted difference than most being that I was born into objectives that I wish not to talk about but do plan to speak more of in the near future in a documentary called “Follow the Bouncing Ball” that would be in production currently. The issues I have had with my city is finding people to work together as a team for it seems that everyone wants to be that business that achieves success and puts our city in the map since locally we believe nobody has truly done that although a few have found success then forget to come back to lift up others.
