Meet Brady Micek of Lysergia Art Collective in Metropolitan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brady Micek.

Brady, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been doing music production for the last two and a half years, and have been in bands and played several different instruments over my lifetime. I started Lysergia as a way to promote and showcase my friends and my art. Over the course of making music, I’ve met a lot of cool people, specifically people in the Psychedelic Bass scene. A lot of those people are making art of some form or another. With the recent explosion of psychedelic art, in Denver, but also across the country, it’s been easy to network with people. People who support my efforts and who gain from my support. That kind of support has allowed Lysergia, to, in the first six months since our launch, put out a pretty successful compilation album, put on three different showcases, at three different venues in Fort Collins and Denver, amongst many of the other smaller projects we have going on. It’s also helped us to put into motion the things we have planned for the future, for the rest of this year and the beginning half of next year.

Has it been a smooth road?
Thus far, it’s been quite smooth. In the beginning, we had a few road bumps, but no serious setbacks. Through experience comes understanding. Therefore, we’ve learned a lot so far about what to do and what not to do, what we’re looking for and not looking for.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Lysergia Art Collective, is just that, an art collective. We specialize in psychedelic art, of all forms. Currently, we have music producers, painters, and VJ’s on our team, but eventually, we’ll expand to flow art, jewelry, and clothing. All in good time.

Overall, I’m impressed with how much momentum we’ve been able to gather so far. Having only been officially operating since April, we’ve had takeovers at Your Mom’s House, Hodi’s Half Note, and East Coast Bar. Each one was successful in of itself, and we’re all really excited to get some more events going. We also have a bi-monthly mix series, that we put visuals to. As well as a single, EP, or album release each month. All of which have been doing well so far, all available on Soundcloud and our Facebook page.

The thing I’m most proud of, about Lysergia though, is the artists. Each and everyone has stepped up to take on particular roles of the collective. Each person has shown their gratitude and dedication to what we’re doing. Not only that, but, I’m also very proud of the art that all of the artists have made, and are making. Each one is talented in their own right, and I’m incredibly excited to see how each one progresses.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The explosion of psychedelic art in Denver is exactly why I felt confident in Lysergia’s ability to succeed. Without a doubt, Denver is the place to be for this scene.
