Meet Cameron Johnson of ALWAYS SMILE in Denver Tech Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Johnson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cameron. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As the founder and creator of the Always =) brand, my main focus is to bring more joy and happiness to the world. Throughout my personal life’s journey, I’ve always been the type who wears my emotions on my sleeve – literally – and I’ve got the tattoos to prove it! One of my favorite tattoos that helped me get through some pretty tough times and reminded me to be happy, gave me an idea. What if people could let everyone know that they made a choice to live their life happy through something as simple as the clothing they wore? From that thought, Always =) was born.

Just like everyone else, I’ve experienced joy and sorrow and felt the emotions of loss and love. But through it all, I made a choice to be happy. I can tell you firsthand that it’s not always the easiest choice to make, which is why I’ve brought Always =) to the world to serve as a gentle nudge and subtle reminder for people to keep living happily through the good times and bad.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, this journey that I have embarked on has had its ups and downs for sure. For the most part, it has been a smooth road because I truly believe in my brand’s core values and mission.

The struggles I have had are good struggles. This is the first business I have ever built so there have been many learning curves. However, I wouldn’t change anything thus far because I have learned so many new things about what it takes to run a successful business. From knowing my quarterly projections to know, too finding out how to become a profitable business.

Please tell us about ALWAYS SMILE.
Our mission is to give individuals the opportunity to express their passion for happiness through apparel that transcends beyond the body to create a spiritual state of mind that represents their joyful lifestyle.

I am most proud that of the story’s customers have shared with me about what keeps them ALWAYS SMILING. I started this business because my simple tattoo helped me get over some pretty dark times and reminded me to smile. Now it’s much bigger than my story, my goal is to help remind everyone around the world to always smile and the importance of doing so.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory was playing outside for hours on end with my neighborhood best friends. We would skateboard, build ramps, played street football, we did it all. I will forever hold on to those memories because those days truly shaped my character now.
