Meet Carlos Valles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos Valles.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Carlos. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My career started back when I was in high school, I remember playing around with the glue gun to see what I could come up with. I made some interesting things and that is how I developed my YouTube channel. I’m known for my eccentric Lady Gaga inspired heels. My most popular video has over 3 million views on its own. I still make heels from time to time but now that I’ve graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fashion Design, I incorporate my heels with unique clothing that empowers women to be bold and to feel free. I’m inspired by powerful women such as Lady Gaga, Daphne Guinness, Kim Petras and also Horror Movies. I created an entire collection based off some of my favorite Horror Movies and I called it “Killer Kouture” which can also be found on YouTube. I don’t know where my career will take me but I guarantee you, it won’t be boring.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had some struggles trying to find what type of designer I want to be and what I want to do with my brand. I have a weird taste in things and I want to find the perfect little spot within the fashion industry for me to succeed in. As much as I want to do it all, I think I want to focus on just a few things such as shoes and custom pieces.

Please tell us about your work.
I focus on custom pieces and eccentric shoes. What sets me apart from others is my unique way of making women stand out, I dress them in clothing that is beautiful and a little strange but makes them feel like they can accomplish anything.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
When I work with a model or artist the biggest thing I look for is the way they see the world and their art. I value their opinions and ideas when it’s something genuine and not simply just for Instagram likes or popularity.
