Meet Caroline Gregory and Shayna Friend of Earthling Meals in LoHi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Gregory and Shayna Friend.

Caroline and Shayna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our individual stories have been scenic. World travel has been on the top of our list, together as best friends and apart as we’ve had different location callings over the years. Along both of our travels though, cuisine from different cultures has always been a highlight.

We’ve spent the last few years exploring different countries, visiting the local food markets and learning new cooking techniques.

At the end of 2019, we decided it was time to have a real home base. 40+ countries later, voilà, nomadic foodies land in Denver.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Unconventional lifestyles inherently lead to bumpy roads. Over the last five years, we’ve done our best to live outside typical society parameters (solo traveling, hostel hopping, road-tripping, no 9-5s, etc). Most of the time, it was incredibly liberating! However, we’ve had our fair share of scooter/moped/snowmobile accidents, broken bones, missed flights, overnight buses, isolation and fears of overstaying a visa. Not to mention sleeping in hostel bunk beds in your mid-20s.

Please tell us about Earthling Meals.
Our business, Earthling Meals, is the culmination of our travels! Along our journeys, we adopted a vegan lifestyle and feel there’s so much to add & gain within the growing vegan community. We also understand the struggle of trying to satisfy cravings while eating healthy and remaining eco-friendly.

Earthling Meals is a local, vegan meal prep and delivery service. Our business provides a convenient way to satisfy all of the above and we’re on a mission to deliver ready-to-eat meals that are good for you and good for the planet.

With an ever-evolving menu, our food is a fusion of different food backgrounds and lots of research (eating). We love bringing new sustainable alternatives to the world.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We wouldn’t have launched only weeks before a pandemic 🙂
