Meet Cas Altrich of Freckle Faced Frog Photography in Colorado Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cas Altrich.

Cas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out as a model, learning what works and how light will look depending on how I move. I recently decided to get behind the camera, and as I do with most things, I’ve hit the ground running, Starting with milk bath shoots, family shoots and even some Halloween shoots.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hasn’t been a smooth road at all, I have quite a few health issues I’ve been dealing with, but you just got to get up at get at it. Can’t sit still forever. I thought photography would be a little less taxing on my body than modeling, but you really got to push yourself, squat, and bend in weird angles to get that great shot.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Freckle Faced Frog Photography – what should we know?
Right now, my main focus is expanding my portfolio, I’d like to go out and do as much as I can before I decided to narrow down to one specific thing, I’m really enjoying fashion shoots, and working with models, though and I’ll probably stick with that, even if it’s not a main focus.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
First and foremost, my great friend Amanda De Leon, (mentor, supporter and cheerleader) who not only inspired me to start this journey but has encouraged me the entire way both on a one on one level and professionally through her networking group, Women Networking in Photography! I also help run the Colorado chapter. I’d really love to shout out to my aunts Brandy Phillips, and Jami Buttermore. Not only are they like mothers to me but they are both strong, business savvy women who have always supported my endeavors. Last, but not least, I’d like to give a big, giant shout out to my husband, Rob, who always supports and even helps me through the whole creative process, and puts up with my crazy hectic days!
