Meet Case Buckie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Case Buckie.

Case, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was originally born in Atlanta my people separated when I was young and my mother and I moved to Alaska where I grew up. My mother was a singer even in evangelist at one time and I believe that’s where I got my ear for good music from. After I became an adult, I branched out living in different states, California, Florida, Las Vegas just to name a few. After traveling for a while, I moved back to my birth town in Atlanta and it is there where I started to take music serious. Before I started making music, I actually had my own business but that isn’t what I wanted to really do so I decided to let my business go and I wanted to move out of Atlanta. Colorado was the closest thing to Alaska that I have been to since I left so I decided to come here to Denver.

Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t believe that anything that has worth comes easy. When I first moved here and got into the music scene a lot of artists did not want to work with me because they didn’t know who I am so I had to go to different Open Mic performances to get my name and my brand out. Which meant a lot of networking via social media and having to break out of my comfort zone.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Young prestigious entertainment is my record label that I started once I started taking the music series I feel like the difference between myself and others is that I like the focus on the actual artist music and promotion as if it were my own. I make my own beats as well as mix and master a lot of my own music so when I work with other artists, I like to put in the same amount of time and energy into their music as I do my own.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I like Colorado. I feel that it has a very large and very open music scene here. Since I’ve been here, I’ve gotten to work with a lot of different Talent and a lot of different genres of music.
