Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Hunt.
Cassandra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been a little weird all my life. Okay, maybe really weird. But growing up in Denver made it a bit easier because this city has so much to offer every niche and type of person imaginable. I have loved and loathed this city for over 25 years. Watched it grow experience tragedy and birth amazing art, culture, food, and music.
Each neighborhood has history and vibrance. Thus I wanted to document and share all I know about this city and how it has shaped me through each experience. Being a Realtor, I need to know the ins and outs of every inch of this city so I can be superb at my job. I created “Keep Denver Weird,” a platform for me to share everything and anything about this town! I sell t-shirts which have an original artwork actually created by my rather artistic mother. It features the city limits of Denver and original typeface and mountain drawing. We now also have original leatherwork and try to do a couple of popups a year while maintaining an Etsy page.
Has it been a smooth road?
As we all know, no road is smooth in Denver. There are potholes, gravel and never a place to park. Some of my struggles have been keeping consistent content and not worrying about whether people think a post is “weird enough,” “local spirit enough,” or whatever the hate is going to be. The true Denver experience is individual and this is simply through my personal lens. I just tell the haters, stay weird.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Keep Denver Weird – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Keep Denver Weird does not get paid to feature people, places, things. We simply go out and explore, talk to other weirdos and feature what we think makes this city the thriving metropolis that attracts so many. That is why we created the shirts and swag to help pay for those adventures in finding places. So feel free to drop us a DM and tell us about somewhere we should check out!
What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
The proudest moment I have had is the first sale of t-shirts. The customer was so ecstatic about the product and loved the movement we were creating that I was overjoyed! The response has been so positive and just adds another reason to why I love this city!
