Meet CJ Jaramillo of Anything Customs LLC in Thornton

Today we’d like to introduce you to CJ Jaramillo.

CJ, before we jump into specific questions about the company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Where do I start. I always wanted to model since I was little. I was a part of a program through our church that involved a runway. I loved it growing up though, my life went a different direction. I became a mother young and my life changed forever. The idea of me being a model faded and didn’t cross my mind until I was about 27. I got a phone call one day about a modeling school that was holding auditions. The excitement washed over me and I took the chance to try out walking the runway. I got a call back! From then on, my life changed in a big way. My husband has asked me why I do modeling. Not because he doesn’t think I can do it but because models tend to start that career path young. My answer to him blew him away. My step-daughter who is now 18, was going through a rough patch in her life and didn’t feel happy in her own skin. I told her about my call back and asked her if she wanted me to reach out and get information for her so she can become a model herself. I told her it would bring back her confidence. She took the same challenge I did and now she’s thriving! Every time she gets in front of a camera her true colors come out and it makes her feel like herself. Every single woman in the word are beautiful. Sometimes they are afraid to show it. My main goal was to change that. I love my children more than words will ever say and my husband is my biggest supporter as well as my daughter’s supporter of course. I’m still working in the industry but not as much as I was. I continue to push my daughter for her dreams and her confidence. My family is my reason for modeling and to show every woman that no matter what you’re feeling, you are always worth it!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish I could say it’s been a smooth road. In fact, it’s been a challenging road. When it comes to modeling, the main thing you have to remember is you may not be what the production or magazine is Looking for but there is always another day. Another chance to audition and do your best There will also be some people that will try and stand in your way of your dreams but the main thing is to keep pushing and never give up on what’s in your heart.

Please tell us about the company.
Anything Customs is a construction company my husband and I created about 8 years ago. It started small from working on homes and some fix and flips with another company. We then branch off on our own and we are now nationwide doing tenant finishes for Max Challenge and I Love Kick Boxing. It had given us the opportunity to travel the United States and build amazing locations for people to work out in! We are building up to achieve a goal of passing down the company to our children.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment of my whole experience has to be the time when my youngest walked in the DUWF. Her smile when she walked was priceless. It opened her up to the modeling world just like me but it gave her the chance to say yes or no on modeling. She has decided to not pursue modeling which is 100% her choice.
