Meet Connie Pshigoda of Wellness For All Seasons

Today we’d like to introduce you to Connie Pshigoda.

Connie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I guess I’ve always been surrounded by gardens. Little did I know that my childhood years on my family’s Texas farm would plant a passion for garden fresh foods and seasonal beauty that would evolve into my current career. Intrigued by nature’s seasons and exceptional health and vitality, my nutritional studies began at Texas Tech University and continued at the Institute for Natural Therapeutics (Mesa, AZ) and Central Arizona College (Coolidge, AZ). My ancestry of German farmers and gardeners deepened my love of the great outdoors and how nature’s foods support health and longevity.

With new scientific discoveries and technologies in natural health, I strive to stay tuned in to the latest research and studies with continuing education so that I may offer my clients the best of simple, non-invasive and medication-free wellness. I enjoy helping others learn to observe nature’s influences and insights and how those affect their energy, health, even attitudes. My most treasured moments are sharing my garden legacy with my granddaughters!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No life journey is a smooth road. It’s those bumps and pot holes––and even going off into the ditch––that often bring about the greatest growth.

For example, tomato plants do much better after a hail storm (if they’re not complete demolished). A wise gardening friend taught me that if the summer was a mild season (few storms), then I should take a broom and literally, “beat the daylights” out of my tomato plants! Of course I later realized that improves the pollination and helps the plants to thrive.

My wellness journey began in the fitness field of health in the early 1970’s. As life “happened” and changes occurred, I had to make several adjustments. A divorce gave me the opportunity to really make life changes . . . So I did! Relocating from a small town in New Mexico in the late 80’s, my two daughters and I stepped out on faith and moved to Phoenix, AZ. I began my focused wellness education in my mid-thirties and have navigated many rough roads, as well as the smooth ones.

I’ve enjoyed being a fitness and water aerobics instructor, baby-swim instructor, bridal consultant for dinnerware , and tableware selection, massage therapist (24-years), including infant massage instructor, wellness coach and nutrition educator and an award-winning author.

Wellness For All Seasons – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As Founder of Wellness For All Seasons and award-winning author, (The Wise Women’s Almanac: A Seasonal Guide with Recipes for New Beginnings that Never Go Out of Season), I like to bring my passion for nature’s nourishment “to the table” in my writings, postings, coaching and presentations.

Using the wisdom of nature’s original foods, I introduce my clients in ways to manage their menus with a seasonal flavor and flair. With preventive nutrition and aging-intervention principles and technology, I guide my clients through simple solutions so they may reach their wellness goals with renewed energy, mental alertness, and stress management.

Wellness For All Seasons focuses on a systems approach rather than a symptom focus. The body’s eleven systems must work harmoniously in unison for optimal health and through coaching, educating and writing, I share a medication-free, symptom-free, non-invasive options.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Living a successful life, for me, means doing what I feel called to do and something that brings me joy that I may share with others; my family, friends and clients.

One of my most memorable success moments was when I hosted Garden Gatherings. This endeavor gave me the opportunity to invite clients to experience seasonal wellness tips, seasonal recipes and menus and girlfriend time to connect in a relaxing garden setting. I hosted these Gatherings for many seasons and still hear comments about how those Gatherings changed a woman’s perspective on the value of embracing a seasonal lifestyle.

Now, half-way into my sixth decade, I feel that I’ve attained that. I love seeing––and hearing about–– the “aha” moments with clients after I’ve shared an analogy from the garden that applies to their personal health issues or concerns and they “get it.” I believe when we understand a connection, we are more likely to take steps to improve (whatever that may be).

I am blessed with a wonderful farming legacy and family––two daughters (their hubbys) and 2 granddaughters with another on the way. Family time is my grounding time. Sharing gardening techniques, as well as the produce, with my granddaughters . . . well, that’s success!
