Meet Courtney Oliver of Court in the Studio – Happy Web + Graphic Design in North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Oliver.

Courtney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Eleven years ago, I moved to Colorado (following the blind intuition of simply loving this beautiful place) with my two sweet dogs. I have been a professional designer in Colorado ever since and finally took the leap to launch my own studio three years ago. It has been both exhilarating and terrifying, but I live for the moments I can help a small business take wing with a beautiful brand, new website, or other creative projects. I am so inspired by the kind and invigorating entrepreneurial community I have found in the clients I’ve met, and am over the moon that I can do what I love for a living every single day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Gosh, I guess I’ve always had a positive, go-getter spirit, so I try to stay centered and see any challenge as motivation. I try to operate along the lines of flowing in a perpetual state of wonder and open-mindedness to help me through this winding road of entrepreneurship. That being said, if I’ve had a hard day, a glass of wine, hammocking, and some feel-good meditation helps me swing the heaviness away.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a web and graphic designer who creates a bright design for small, boutique and mission-driven businesses. I specialize in customizing Squarespace, Shopify, and Wix websites. For the graphic design side of my work, I enjoy branding, packaging, marketing material, and much, much more. I am currently in the process of expanding my studio with more designers, photographers, and other supportive trades to help my clients in avenues beyond design. So exciting! I’m hoping what sets me apart from other designers is that I sincerely do 100% of my work from LOVE and hope I attract clients who can connect with that vibe. Many of my clients have been with me for years and are dear friends.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
If I truly break it down, supporting my growing family and community, staying true to my heart, and doing what I love – for amazing clients – is my idea of the happiest level of success I could imagine.
