Meet Courtney Samuel of Bodies By Perseverance in Five Points

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Samuel.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Courtney. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 1999, I left North Dakota State University to pursue a career in the N.F.L. After not being selected in the 2000 NFL draft, I tried for the next year and half to make an N.F.L team. In 2003 after working for Sun Microsystems as a software engineer, I opened BBP. My original location was a 600 sqft training studio, where I would train clients before and after work.

A year or two later, we expanded next door and added a kickboxing/cardio gym, giving us a total of 1400 sq ft and quit my corporate job. Since then, we have had 5 locations and currently operate in the heart of 5 points in a stand alone 3000 sq ft gym.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
NO! The reason I named my company Bodies By Perseverance because perseverance is life and life is perseverance. You must keep fighting and grinding when times are good and bad. The main struggle are dealing with people, rather than be employees or clientele and of course, financial. If you are truly living in your passion, all these issues will work there way out.

Bodies By Perseverance – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our mission is to wake up every day and help clients set goals that align with our mission of getting them into the best shape of their lives. BBP is determined to create an unmatched fitness environment that fosters improved self-confidence and self-esteem. Clients improve physically, mentally, and they develop a passion for long term health and training. Our various training techniques such as muscle confusion and metabolic conditioning, along with commitment, and consistency will guarantee results. BBP is exclusive one-on-one personal training and small group training with emphasis in nutrition, cardio schedule, and supplement advice.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Blessed to have met some incredible people. Without fitness as a gateway, I don’t know if our paths would have crossed.
