Ay, we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Castillo and Jose Rafael Albarran.
Daniel and Jose, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After have sang together for a Venezuelan traditional group in 2017. We Used to meet each other to cook our own ideas about how a tropical music band should perform. Eventually, these meetings became into rehearsals of a garage band doing covers and trying with different musicians and styles until find those which fit the best. Then we were invited to the first Venezuelan Festival in Denver and after that, invitations began to arrive to play at other festivals and private parties and since then, we have not stopped.
Has it been a smooth road?
Challenges always have been part of this path but the main challenge is fitting in other culture, make people to understand your vision and involve them in your mission because give them the best party they ever had is the easy part.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
We are a music band. Our business is entertainment. We perform Latin American rhythms like salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggaetón. Our proposal differs from the others in the fact that we vibrate with people, we play, we sing and we dance with them. Our proposal is not only about arriving on stage and offering music, it is about making people feel Like they are in their origin town and make them remain those days through the music. To get this goal, we have prepared an international 30 years repertoire which focuses on commemorating the great successes of the past and flagging the movement of the present, with its own seasoning.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Denver is not the best place to start a business like this due to the city’s size, musical tendencies and commercial activities mostly oriented to tourism but if you innovate, you are going to fit in not only because “new is trending” but also because it separates your proposal from others and makes you visible.
