Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Mathers.
Danielle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story begins with my own skin – late-teenage years, dotted with acne (and braces…the quintessential teenage look), not having a clue what to do. I saw a medical esthetician who helped me not only with the breakouts but the scarring that inevitably came with it. My self-esteem was renewed and I no longer felt the need to hide behind a shield of bangs. Then, I began traveling at 18 years old, moved to Australia, fell in love (with an Aussie AND the country) and began my RN degree overseas with a vision of working in the aesthetic field. I began my nursing career in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital in Queensland, Australia while also working in a prestigious cosmetic clinic (score!). I learned from some of the best cosmetic physicians and nurses in Australia, completed my cosmetic nurse training, and knew that I had found my calling. Fast forward to now, and I’ve moved back to the US with my husband, choosing the beautiful, sunny Denver, Colorado. I wanted to get back into the Aesthetic Nursing world here and started my own business, The Luxe Room.
Has it been a smooth road?
I think all beginnings have their ups and downs, especially in the beginning. In saying that, I feel like the road has been mostly smooth…so far! I found a great oculoplastic surgeon to work under and a friendly team to help me provide excellent service to my clients. I think minor struggles with any new business is bringing in new clients and start to generate income. Let me tell you, long nights creating content, website developing, and investing into much-needed marketing doesn’t always equal business walking in the door! There were a few months of crickets and second-guessing, but sticking to it was the right answer. The hard work truly did pay off and six months later, I find my booking calendar packed about two weeks out.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Luxe Room – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Luxe Room consists of myself – I am an independent contractor cosmetic RN working out of an oculoplastic surgeon’s office in Cherry Creek. At this practice, we have top-of-the-line lasers & cosmetic medical devices known for delivering real results. We also carry Allergan products (Botox & Juvederm) which can’t be beaten on quality. I have been practicing cosmetic procedures for seven years and provide treatments such as IPL, laser, cosmetic injectables, microneedling, and treatments utilizing cosmetic stem cell serum. However, my true passion is dermal lip filler treatments. You’ll find me regularly posting before and afters on my Instagram page as I LOVE doing these treatments! Along with the other treatments I do, I love providing natural-looking results. This is probably why I love doing lip filler treatments – I love to show that you CAN have a beautiful result and not look ‘ducky’ or overtreated. Luckily the cosmetic industry has changed over the years, and if someone has had a great treatment done, the result should be ‘you’re looking great’ or ‘you’re glowing!’ rather than being able to tell the person had Botox or filler!
