Meet Danielle Scott of Dandee Studio in RiNo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Scott.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I studied Fine Art & Design in college and moved to Denver roughly ten years ago from the Midwest with my-now husband. The mountains were calling, and we’re still here! I landed an amazing first gig at a boutique agency called Adrenalin, who had big clients like the Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings, Arapahoe Basin, etc. After working at nonprofits, tech companies, and event production companies, it was confirmed that I wanted to work for myself. I own and operate a small design company called Dandee Studio, with a focus on local brands and businesses—and I love it.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been smooth in the sense that I have worked with amazing people along the way. The percentage of female Creative Directors still remains low—so navigating issues such as fair pay, self-confidence, and client relationships as a female is still an uphill battle. But I sense change is happening. I attribute my sense of drive and hustle to growing up as the eldest of 7 siblings—where we were constantly competing with each other.

Dandee Studio – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Dandee Studio is a culmination of everything that I have gained expertise in over the years—branding, graphic design, website design, marketing, and photography needs. I’m most passionate about helping local brands get started with an image they can be excited about presenting to the world. I’ve grown up with the city of Denver, and have helped craft emerging brands and events from beer festivals to baby products. I like to see the tangible results throughout the community. My favorite project as of late was the branding for the Mission Ballroom music venue.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Thus far—probably my time spent at Water For People in India when I was working as their Art Director. We were raising funds to bring clean water to rural communities and really focused on being social disrupters at events like SXSW. I was able to document their work at schools and in rural communities. That’s ultimately where I want to share my skillset again—to bring about change. But for now, I am a new mom, in a global pandemic, just trying to keep it together like the rest of us. Women can do it all, right?
