Meet Danny Ramos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Ramos.

Danny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Like most kids, I was very curious. A lot of the time I was left to my own devices. My mom had me very young so I was the kid at the parties watching T.V. in the other room, coloring or opening the door at the restaurant she served at, or leaving my watercolors out to dry in the SDSU student apartment housing courtyard.

My mom then met my step-dad otherwise known as Dad and we moved to Colorado. Being the new kid is scary I unintentionally made my 5th-grade class laugh and ever since I’ve been the class clown.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Corin Chavez and Nick Thorne, two of the founders of the Black Actors Guild, were huge influences and big reasons behind why I got involved with the DIY comedy/production scene in Denver. Unfortunately, they are no longer with us.

Ever since I remember to always “do the most.”

Alright – Tell us about your work. What should we know?
Raised in Denver, CO, I’ve hit the ground running as one of Colorado’s fresh faces in the comedy scene. With my unique perspective and comically detailed storytelling, I tell all. A semi-finalist in Comedy Works New Faces 2019, two-time winner of Comedy Works Thick Skin, and Loonees You Look Like Comedy Roast Battle.

On top of that, I’ve has been involved with the Black Actors Guild, a Denver based production and education company, since 2011. The Black Actors Guild has won a number of awards throughout the years including Best Young Theatre Company (Westword, 2015), Best Web-Series (Westword, 2016), Top 100 Colorado Creatives (Westword, 2016).
