Meet Dave Halchak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dave Halchak.

Dave, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as a musician in high school. Once I was in college, I started playing shows more regularly and took on the management/booking role in the bands I was in. Touring up and down the east coast with a jamband called The Breadbox Band learning my craft as musician/booking agent/manager. That continued for about another 5+ years until I moved to Denver in 2008. Once in Denver, I picked up where I left off starting a band called Ground Up that played 50-75 gigs per year for a few years which then lead me to Cervantes, where I started booking some random shows here and there. After putting in my time loosely working with Cervantes, they hired me full time as an assistant talent buyer and eventually a talent buyer. I stayed there until March of 2019 and moved on to Mammoth Music Group which is where I still am today. Currently, I’m working with:

Joey Harkum – management
Tnertle – management
Rastasaurus – management/booking
Giant Walking Robots – vocals/guitar/management/booking
Dave Halchak (live looping) – vocals/guitar/management/booking
Wake Up and Live – A Bob Marley Tribute – vocals/guitar/management/booking

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Some of the struggles of trying to make a living in the music industry while juggling a “day job” and eventually going full time with music.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I enjoy working with artists on many different levels including as a manager, booking agent, and bandleader. I think this gives me insight that managers/agents who aren’t also musicians might not have.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m excited to continue to grow the projects I’m representing as well as the projects I’m currently playing with. I’m also very excited to be releasing music as frequently as possible.
