Meet David Scott of 3amWater

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Scott.

David, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from the Leeds School of business at CU Boulder in 2015. I felt like I always had the tools to start a business just needed to be on the right direction. I held a food management position at Elitch Gardens and knew that was not my passion. So, after discussing with my closest friends and scheming a plan we landed on a beverage. We thought marketing and distributing a great natural spring water is something we were fully capable of and had the resources to do in our own city.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely has been challenging our first year and a half into business. The hardest part for us was and still is creating brand awareness. Our competitors are so large and take up so much shelf space we have to do an even better job of relaying our message to our community and consumers. We know that will be the thing that separates us from all the other water brands.

3amwater “Hydration for the Go Getters” is a company made up of three gentlemen. My two best friends Lukas Lockett, Diangelo Ulvi and I, along with countless other volunteers team up to hydrate festivals, local events, and diverse individuals of all kinds. We do deliveries to businesses and residences weekly. We specialize in finding the insanely passionate. Whether you’re an athlete, musician, mural artist, or chef we hydrate the Go Getters. Water is essential and is needed throughout the day. The hours of 3am are no exception. We are most proud of being a black owned and operated business in our own communities. What sets us apart from our competitors is how active we are in participating in the hydration of community. We want to highlight every one of them as much as possible. Everyone asks what’s special about the water. The Go Getters who drink it that’s what makes us special. Our efforts can be seen on our website or social medias.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was the life of the party. I feel I have unique way of stealing the rooms attention no matter who’s in it. Homecoming king, best dressed and Mr. Funny guy in school but also graduated top 50 of my class. I loved to play football and did so in little league and high school. I got more letters academically than for sports so I knew where my future was headed junior year. Attended CU Boulder and received my degree. It was there I sharpened my skills of quick thinking, smooth talking, and sales that ultimately lead to me running a water company.
