Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominic Rosacci.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dominic. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got my start in the apparel industry from a young age. I was 16 when I started my first street apparel brand. Growing up, my passion was anything action sports. I was immersed in skateboard and snowboard culture. It was what I loved to do and did both constantly. But this brought on a lot of hospital trips. To mitigate a constant barrage of injuries, I decided to build a brand that was connected to the industry I loved the most. Through this process, I started building valuable connections both to buyers and other makers.
Through the numerous challenges of running your own retail brand, I gravitated to helping other businesses build their brand stories and apparel collections. Since I had invested in the equipment that it took to produce my own goods, I decided to start helping other street and action brands with the design and production process. That was the linchpin to starting my second and current business “Superior Ink” It became clear that my passion was helping build brands rather than running one. Today we work with about 300 businesses a year. We produce apparel for anything from start-ups to multi-million dollar brands and everything in between. Our success is seeing other businesses succeed
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think any dream, business or idea worthy of chasing has a smooth road. There are always different levels of complex growth blocks and unique challenges that you have to overcome. It’s part of the process and what makes the journey so special. For me, struggles bring an opportunity to adapt overcome and learn. Most of our biggest challenges have eventually lead to a positive outcome.
One, in particular, was in 2014 when we moved from a 3,500 SF facility to a 12,000 sf building to keep up with the production demands of one client. We purchased our largest piece of equipment and moved the entire business and signed a five-year lease only to find out they were moving the production to California. It was a huge loss as they represented over 50% of our income. However, as devastating as it was at the time, we were able to open up more lucrative opportunities and soon flourished because it allowed us to seek out more profitable relationships

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have had huge support along the way. First off my Mom. She has supported me since day one and not only has she been there for me emotionally, she was actually one of my first employees and still currently works for the company. She is 100% part of the lifeblood of Superior Ink.
Another massive influence and mentor is Ryan Moor the CEO of Ryonet and Allmade apparel. Through the numerous opportunities and intentions to create a ripple of positive change in our industry, I have learned a lifetime of business and personal ethics and am forever grateful for the opportunities and inspiration he provides not just to me, but our entire industry.
There have been many other huge impacts along the way, more than I could ever have the time to thank.
