Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Perske.
Elijah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always wanted to create my own clothing brand but didn’t know where to start. My older brother, Josiah had been a big influence to me during my later teenage years in helping me be comfortable in my own skin. His natural talent and creativity with art was something special to me and I had a desire to share it to the world while raising people’s vibrations. With that in mind, I started printing his art on tee shirts and hoodies. From there I continued to dive into fashion and my interest in different styles. I’ve now created variety of things such as windbreakers, bucket hats, overalls, socks and more.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s not always been a smooth road but it has been an adventure I wouldn’t trade for anything. The challenges have helped push me to understand more about myself and what I intend to do with my life. Not that it was a struggle, but it’s a part of any business to always be evolving and pushing your own limits. The biggest struggle has been myself as I learn and grow through the hurdles of developing a brand to what I want it to become.
Let’s talk about business. Tell us about Perske Perspective – what should we know?
My brand is a bit different in the sense that it is just myself running everything. My brother is responsible for all the artwork, but I am the person behind the brand. I’ve organized collaborations for photo shoots, and even model myself if I’m not able to find someone else to do so. What sets me apart from others is that, as a brand, we don’t try to fit any mold and we inspire others to be unique and free just how they are.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My determination to impact the world in a positive way is what pushes me towards the success I desire. It’s less about myself and more about the abundance of opportunity to change the world that I chase after.
