Meet Gina Stenback of Stenback Digital Media in Fairplay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Stenback.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been a true believer that we all have a special gift to share. I also wholeheartedly believe creating your ideal future is more viable today than ever before and I’m on a mission to help as many courageous souls as I can create that future. I keep my favorite quote close by to always remind me: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” – Abraham Lincoln & Peter Drucker.

They say pain is one of the biggest motivators to create change. My current story started out of the pain of losing multiple businesses.

Two years after my husband and I uprooted our lives and moved cross country to Colorado, I found myself closing a big chapter of my life and having to re-invent myself at age 43. My Holistic Health business (Vibrant Sexy Health) wasn’t working, debt was piling up and change needed to happen. I was working 2-4 side gigs and part-time jobs at any given time while still trying to save my business. I’ll spare you all the deets, but I ended up not saving my biz. Everything happens for a reason! My favorite of these side hustles was helping other entrepreneurs run and market online summits, email marketing and copywriting. It quickly became my passion and shortly after my new full-time business.

My passion grew out of seeing the pain and frustration so many other entrepreneurs go through on a daily basis when it comes to marketing and growing their businesses. So many of us get stuck in the “do-it-all-myself” and overwhelm of building and running a business that we lose sight of the bigger picture and fail to see that there’s always a better way. It all boils down to simplifying.

Fortunately, I didn’t come into this new passion with zero marketing experience. After 20 years of being a serial entrepreneur in the fitness and health industry, I knew a thing or two about marketing and sales. As a former gym owner way before Facebook ads and Google analytics were a thing, I had to master the art of direct response marketing and developed my own “copywriting” gene (one of my favorite power tools today).

Today, I’ve made it my mission to help entrepreneurs simplify their marketing so they can focus on what they do best, serving their clients and making their impact. I do this by focusing on simplicity and creating customized marketing plans specifically designed to meet my clients and their businesses where they’re at. I love what I do and as we like to say at Stenback Digital Media: “Your vision is my mission”.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh my goodness of course not! Building a business is one of the best self-development and growth teachers… It’s hard and it always requires you to stretch out of your comfort zone. As you see from the story I’ve had my share of failures in business. Failures I’m incredibly grateful for as they brought me to where I am today.

At the beginning of my business, mostly as a freelance agent, one of the biggest struggles was starting fresh and having to charge “I’m new in the biz” prizes. Again, still a blessing as we all have to start somewhere and this forced me to work my booty off to come up to speed and gain momentum. The second struggle that comes with this is not being able to immediately invest and re-invest in your business right away so you can scale, outsource and increase your network. But a word of encouragement to anyone starting out, keep at it and it will come.

I started out doing a lot of general virtual work from virtual assistant, to digital and email marketing, to support, to writing and editing, and even events coordinator. This became a struggle because not only was I juggling too much, but I really wasn’t known for anything. Being a jack of all trades is not the best way to build a successful business. Once I decided to focus on one thing, things started to move forward and evolve to what it is today.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Stenback Digital Media story. Tell us more about your work.
I run Stenback Digital Media and we specialize in simplifying your marketing. As a marketing strategist and copywriter, I’ve found that great marketing boils down to two things: Message and Strategy. And simplicity is key!

You only need to implement what is going to work for you, your business, your budget and where you are right now. You need one simple customized strategy and that’s what I do for my clients.

My husband (a landscape photographer) and I are avid hikers and we’re obsessed with nature and living a simple life. We live at 11,000 ft in a cozy small cabin with only what we need.

I like to equate marketing your business to exploring new hikes and climbing mountains and I’ve built my brand around it. Based on simplicity and sprinkled with nature. My main focus and goal for 2020 is to build a team made up of “Rockin” contractors who are passionate about giving back with an emphasis on supporting and giving back to protect our environment and Momma Earth.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Nope!!!

I don’t believe in either. Though there are always circumstances we don’t have control over, we always have a choice to focus on what we can control and change.

Both in life and business, I’ve always taken responsibility for my situations at any given time. If you don’t like something you have to change it. If you want something you have to go after it with obsessive action. If your body needs rest, you have to give it rest. If your business needs attention you have to show up for it with conviction and commitment.

I think is crucial to surround yourself with like-minded, positive individuals who are passionate about growth both personal and business to foster success. Luck has nothing to do with it. It has everything to do with you and your network. Build a network and tribe that pushes you, supports and cheers you on.
