Meet Giovannie aka Just of Just created It in Boulder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovannie aka Just.

Giovannie aka Just, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started with a little encouragement from one of my younger brothers back when he came to stay with me in Phoenix. I remember watching him trying to learn music so he can produce his own. I’ll be going to sleep he’ll be on his computer; I’ll wake up to go to work he’s still on his computer. And all I can remember is how jealous I was that he was just doing what he wanted to do so one day I dropped everything quit my job became a minimalist sold off a lot of my things aka distractions and became real intentional about my time and art. I would wake up every day and Spray paint for hours trying to learn tricks and techniques to gain can control.
And how I got to where I am today I don’t really know where I am as an artist cause I still feel like I have a lot to learn so where ever I am is just where the universe has set me down for the mean time. I am only two months in as a “full time” artist and I am terrified because I have a lot to learn when it comes to the business and nothing is guaranteed just trynna make sure I don’t have to go back to working for someone.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I guess the way I pick up stuff is pretty smooth and easy but finding that confidence in yourself to take on work and to know what you are actually good at, without getting lost in just trying to get paid, has definitely been a struggle but I think I have found that balance or a nice ebb and flow on creating for myself and creating for others.

My company is Just Created It and we Aim to create beautiful work that makes ppl think of that creates tough conversation. We specialize in portraiture on canvas and murals. And we are most proud of our murals across state lines from Seattle to Los Angeles to Canada and Jamaica and we hope to keep traveling and putting up beautiful black art for all to see.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing everything happens for a reason. I only hope that the student is ready when the teacher appears.
