Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Beeghly and Austin Bourdon.
Hannah and Austin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We have known each other since high school and have played music together for over ten years. We moved to Denver in 2016 and went to an Open Mic, in 2018, where we met Ian Mahan, our current bass player who encouraged us to get more involved in the Denver music scene. Ian also introduced us to our drummer Sydney Jones and we played our first full band show in November of 2018 and have been playing as often as we can. Since then, we have recorded an EP and toured together on the West Coast.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Our first year in Denver, we were uninvolved in the music scene. I (Hannah) was pretty depressed and working a job that left me exhausted; I don’t think I wrote a single song that year. After eventually deciding to quit, I felt guilty and purposeless. Writing music really helped me through that time.
mlady – what else should we know?
We are a Denver band that plays pop/rock with a bit of a 90s feel. We aim for songs that are catchy, relatable, and make you feel something.
