Today we’d like to introduce you to James Bramlett.
James, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a Positive Hip-Hop Artist and Filmmaker. I started making music after my son was born a couple years ago because I really wanted to make more of a positive impact in the world and give him something that would influence him for the better. When I was younger, I was heavily influenced by trap and gangster music, which eventually led me to the street life. After learning plenty of lessons, the hard way I eventually realized that wasn’t the life I wanted for myself or my son.
After starting music I realized how much money it was to make this music thing happen so I began directing and shooting my own videos. Once other artists took notice, they also wanted me to shoot theirs and so I started Visuals by PushinPositivity soon after.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s smooth in a sense because I don’t have a boss tellin me what to do when to do it but for a lot of people, that’s more difficult to manage. Also, I’ve had plenty of wasted time trying to build my team that really didn’t want it as bad as I do. Artists are also pretty difficult to please because most of them don’t look at themselves as a business and don’t have their goals in mind when they start the creative process, which leaves it up to me to lead them the best way I see fit.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with PushinPositivity – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a Positive Hip-Hop Artist (PushinPositivity), I make music videos (Visuals by PushinPositivity) and I’ll soon market them also (Attention with PushinPositivity). I’m creating a new lane in music for Motivational Hip-Hop, which will help others realize their potential and help them accomplish their dreams with encouraging music. My videos are all about storytelling, which is the only thing that stands the test of time in media. I want people to watch my videos and be like “damn I really relate with him (or other artists) I wanna go to his show or buy his shirt.” Then lastly I’ll be marketing their videos to get them tangible results like building their email or messenger list, not just racking up the views.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The biggest change I’m working on is bringing more of Positive influence to Hip-Hop instead of the negative, drug-induced influence it has now, also developing my video and marketing team to help other positive artists with their growth and development.
