Meet Jamie Repenning of Floyd’s 99 Barbershop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Repenning.

Jamie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my career in my family’s business, then transitioned to consulting to apply my skills and experience to other businesses and industries. While I enjoyed the challenge, I realized I missed the excitement and sense of belonging that comes with working for a great team. Fortunately, I had been working with Floyd’s and the founding brothers (Paul, Rob, Bill O’Brien) and I was very excited to join their team full time.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No! Floyd’s has an amazing brand and Client experience that was built by our Founders always being closely tied to the business, our team, and our Clients. They carved out their own niche in the hair industry, which has led to significant growth and the potential to grow at a faster rate.

After years of growth across the country, the things that made us successful as a smaller company were being stretched to the limits. The challenge has been to translate all the great practices, habits, and ways of working from our Founders heads and turn them into methods that we can train others to implement and manage. To ensure we maintain the essence of what makes us Floyd’s, I bring a unique concept from MIT Sloan School of Management called Dynamic Work Design. Built from extensive research into human behavior, neuroscience, and successful business practices, Dynamic Work Design is a set of fundamental principles for building business processes that complements the way humans inherently like working.

We knew we had to grow and evolve, but it was very important that people still loved working for Floyd’s!

Floyd’s 99 Barbershop mixes excellent service with the new style appeal of an experienced and talented staff. From the diverse styles and personalities of our stylists and barbers to our signature poster wall plastered with a time machine of music legends and icons, Floyd’s 99 Barbershop is a place where the music is worth turning up, and where everyone can proudly let their individuality shine. We want each experience at Floyd’s 99 Barbershop to be as unique and authentic as the people who fill the shop.

We offer a full menu of services for everyone, including haircuts, hair color, fades, beard trims, straight razor shaves, and signature massage shampoo, finishing every service with a relaxing shoulder massage. We provide a great service, a unique, high-energy vibe, and haircuts with unbeatable value. On top of that, no two shops are the same – meaning the Floyd’s 99 Barbershop experience is truly one of a kind.

Reservations are highly encouraged for all services, and walk-ins are always welcome.
