Meet Jayne Evert of Travel with Jayne in Centennial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayne Evert.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jayne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been an avid traveler for over 25 years now. I have been enthralled with traveling from my earliest memory and if I don’t have a holiday on the calendar to look forward to I find the harder days tough to get through. I have been to 20 countries.

I was in Antarctica, December of 1996 aboard the leased Russian Icebreaker through Marine Expeditions. What an experience! I was 28 at the time and was aboard simply to get away for I had lost both of my parents within 13 months of each other and divorced from a short marriage. Whew, to say the least! Everyone onboard, which I believe there were 60 of us, was so friendly with most being single women. One of these ladies was Anna from England. We got along so well and fast forward 23 years, we are the best of friends and she is the godmother of my son! I have been to the U.K. over 20 times to visit her and the other friends I’ve made there. I adore absolutely everything the U.K. has to offer from scones, history, jacket potatoes, castles, woodland, the people, rugged coastlines, Highland games to kilts!

Also, I have a penpal from France since December of 1981 when I was in the 8th grade. We are friends to this day. I love Magai’s family as my own and the hospitality that her family is simply unmatched. I will always cherish the meals at her mother’s home. Breadcrumbs scattered on the windowsill in the kitchen, food scraps exchanged with the neighbor for their roosting hen’s eggs and the memorable drive to Leonardo da Vinci’s home. It is always magical!

Has it been a smooth road?
I do not travel to developing countries on my own, so it has been a smooth road for me. The only struggle I could say is getting people to understand the importance of taking a chance-go discover yourself through solo travel!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Travel with Jayne, LLC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in the U.K. and New Zealand. I have many beautiful stories about New Zealand and in fact, I got married there 16 years ago! It is mind-boggling to me that people mentally can’t get over the flight time. What awaits you on the other side is another world!

I am most proud of the experience that I have. I have traveled with expeditions, solo, escorted, train and I have loved absolutely every minute of it. To share with others, the possibilities is a rush in of itself.

What sets me apart and I wish all could know this is what is on offer you simply don’t see from companies like Expedia. I am in the know with tour companies that will never be seen on those platforms. So, as a travel agent, it is my business to know the best routes and options while establishing relationships with tour companies. And in this post-COVID world, my value is highlighted dramatically. That is a very good thing!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I LOVE living in Denver. I was born and raised in Texas. Texas, for me, was not an easy place for me to make friends. Sorry, Texas. Once I moved here 21 years ago, I have made so many friends and I have never looked back. My social calendar has been full from day one! And it goes without needing to say it, the mountains. A drive up and it’s an instant vacation!
