Meet Jennifer Ho of Jhomade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Ho.

Jennifer, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am an American born Taiwanese woman who has embraced and infused both of my cultures and traditions into my original designs and hand-cut cut paper pieces. I grew up fascinated and mesmerized by my mother who is the most creative and driven woman I know, moving from project to project, succeeding time after time as a self-taught artist.

Time seemed to stand still as I watched her meticulously cut jaw-dropping scenes from smooth velvet paper with only her blade. This breathtaking process seemed to become apart of my soul almost immediately and carried with me as I grew into the artist I am today. I am now a graphic designer by day and a cut-paper artist by night, a self-taught and inspired creator instilling my style and passion into each handmade piece to share in the joy with those around me.

Has it been a smooth road?
I enjoy the journey as much as I enjoy the successes and rewards I am blessed to experience. The road has proven to have its challenges which may be hard to see at the time but I try to consciously embrace along the way. Learning to balance my passion, duties and time has proven to be the greatest challenge as some aspects may require more of my energy and concentration at any given time.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Jhomade – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Jhomade is my privately owned and operated LLC located in Denver, CO. It is a creative house powered by coffee and chocolate full of hand-cut cut paper originals, illustrations and greeting cards. I am the sole designer and artist actively creating and maintaining relationships with those who share in my passion and interest in cut paper. As a company, I am most proud of showcasing all around Denver and sharing my love of paper with others as we continue to support and inspire each other along the way.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Denver is such a fantastic city with outlets for all passions… what I love about it is the same thing I dislike about it, saturation. Denver is overflowing with amazing artists of all mediums and creations from all walks of life but equally saturated with opportunities… opportunities to sell, showcase and partner which can be an overwhelming flood of options and decisions.
