Meet Jessica Armstrong of Spaces Real Estate in Southern Metro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Armstrong.

Jessica, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Deciding what you want to be when you grow up is arguably one of the most difficult decisions a young person makes. I thought about pursuing so many careers and couldn’t seem to settle on one; nursing, wedding planning, real estate and others. I always wanted to help people and I realized how important it was to me to help people during the more significant moments of their lives. Growing up, I remember always loving houses. I would drag my parents to open houses and model homes, so real estate was naturally an idea that made sense. As I got older and more people around me were buying and selling houses, I started to hear about their experiences and found it disheartening that some didn’t feel they were represented well. I knew real estate could be done differently. I wanted to change the face of the real estate industry and prove that relationships can and should come first in this monumental transaction. With the support of my significant other, family and friends, I began taking real estate classes and then became licensed.

I was introduced to Spaces Real Estate after I had been in the industry for about a year, but the timing just didn’t seem right for me. About a year later, I was out to lunch with one of the owners and I knew I had to make the switch, Spaces was home. Starting on day one, I have attempted to always provide an immense amount of value to everyone I have the pleasure of meeting and finding a company started on this very idea was incredibly exciting. The amount of growth and change both personally and professionally that have come as a result of joining the Spaces family have helped propel my career and I am immensely lucky to have such wonderful people in my life. We’re out to change the world (and do some real estate while we’re at it!)

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business will always have its obstacles. I was learning how to be a successful REALTOR as well as becoming a prosperous business owner, so there were many challenges to be had. From realizing that remaining true to yourself is always the best course to also pushing yourself out of your comfort zone to grow your business, there were successes and opportunities for growth every single day (and there still are!) I’m too stubborn to give up, but I would be lying if I said I never questioned the path I chose along the way. The guidance and support from my incredible community of friends and family has been paramount to my success. My community also includes a group of amazing women business owners who have become great friends and they are always there to remind me I am not alone on the hard days.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
As a REALTOR, I love educating my clients throughout the process of buying or selling a home. I find that people are far less stressed about the process if they just know a little more about what is happening behind the scenes. I have had the opportunity to help people in just about every walk of life and I love that I learn something new on every transaction. Patience, grit, empathy and creative thinking have been some of the more important character traits during my career thus far. Spaces REALTORs never lose sight of providing valuable information and experiences for the people in their lives and I am thrilled to be included in such company. Going above and beyond is our specialty and I am delighted each time I hear a client say I was able to help them make this process painless and they are happy I was by their side.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Each and every closing is special, but there is something extraordinary about helping someone through the process of buying their first home. I am proud every time I get the call that my client’s offer was chosen!
