Meet Jill Chalfant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Chalfant.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jill. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Arvada, CO and loved every minute of my youth. I was a competitive runner in high school and I also put the mascot costume on from time to time. I attended CU Boulder and have a degree in Sociology with an emphasis on Criminology and Education. I had planned to pursue a law degree, but I lost my brother just before graduation. My parents encouraged me to take a year and do something fun. I moved to Vail and I was a ski instructor in the winter and then a fly fishing guide over the summer. Well, to make a long story short, I never left. I had amazing ski clients who have now become family (my husband even started a CO-based company with them Liberty Skis) and I quickly had a fabulous career as the only female fly fishing guide at the time. I love to be busy and the off seasons in the mountains eventually encouraged me to engage in education where I was a teacher for many years until I had my first child. After I held my baby girl, I changed directions and did not go back to teaching. I had already been involved in many non-profit boards and fundraisers and with the encouragement of friends and family, I started to help couples enjoy their wedding days. Everything happens for a reason! I love what I do! Now I cannot imagine life any other way! I truly believe that each road leads to the next. There are hurdles in life that honestly cannot be explained, but it is what we do in reaction to those hurdles that create the life we live. I love being busy. If each day were the same I would go crazy! I have had the flexibility to be home with my two (future brides) girls and work from home doing what I love. I am a wedding planner and I LOVE it!!

Has it been a smooth road?
Back when I started jumping into wedding planning with a ton of enthusiasm but not a lot of first hand knowledge and with every wedding I feel like I learn something new, I hope I will never stop learning from each experience I would love to spend more time building my website and organizing my business, but the whole reason I am building this business is to spend time with my family so when I have five minutes or a few days, my family and I are off exploring CO and beyond! The struggle is that I don’t think I will ever have an empty “to do” list.

We primarily focus on weddings and offer everything from full service planning to month of assistance. We love the details and believe that there is an opportunity for everyone to personalize your event. We love getting to know couples and helping them enjoy their day!

Colorado is the BEST!!! From Denver to the mountains, there is a perfect venue for any celebration. From stylish urban to mountain rustic, we really have it all in right here. The majority of our couples live in or desire to live in Colorado or come here for vacation. Who wouldn’t want to live here?
