Meet Jo Daley of Mile High Music in Louisville, Highlands, SE Denver and SE Aurora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jo Daley.

Jo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I love music! I love children! These two things were married when I discovered Music Together, an amazing, award-winning music program for infants to age five and their caregivers. Classes are 45 minutes and meet once a week. I started my business “Mile High Music” in 2002 with just me and five families mostly who were my friends! Year after year it grew. Now in 2019, we serve 400 families per Semester and I have four locations and seven talented teachers.

I got this big because I focused on small. One song at a time, one family at a time. Making someone’s day, making a difference, changing the way they see their child, themselves, and maybe even shaping their parenting to be deeper and more loving all through singing and dancing. It’s incredible what I have learned from our families. Now more than ever, we need human connection and joy in just being together. I feel lucky to provide these experiences to our communities.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have struggled to make ends meet, It’s not been easy to turn a big profit, but I keep going because my heart is so into this!

Please tell us about your business.
I offer the Music Together program, which is a worldwide researched-based music and movement program for infants to age five. They are recognized as the leader in early childhood music education. What sets us apart is our beautiful multicultural music, parent education and classes that focus on real learning.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
We built a beautiful log house in the woods. I was ten. I helped! It was an exciting happy time!
