Meet At’Eaze in Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to At’Eaze.

At’Eaze, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I fell in love with music at a very young age. Probably before I can remember. My pops told me about how when I was real little, like 3 years old, whenever I wouldn’t fall asleep, he would ride around playing “Smooth jazz. CD 104 point 3” on the radio until I fell asleep. And to this day Smooth jazz is one of my favorite genres of music. Thats where it began.

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. I had to deal with doubt, death, being broke, the balance of knowing I have a gift that separates me from everyone else but not being where I feel I should be regardless of how hard I worked. It took a lot for my mindset to change to nonstop grind mode. Now I don’t even allow myself time to fret when it comes to music, because I know what my purpose is with it. I’m gonna change the world. Period.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an inspirational hip hop artist. I know for my messages being all positive, uplifting, encouraging, bringing awareness, being real and honest, no negativity, no cussin, no degrading messages. The only “derogatory” term I use is the “N” word. But then again that depends on the listener’s perception of the way I use the word. But I am set apart by my skillset. I’m a true hip hop head. So I studied and still study cadences, melodies, flow, timing, pitch, tone, voice, similies, metaphors, ect. Putting all of that into one seed has made the growth process so fun and mind-boggling.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love my city. The beauty, the people (the majority of the time), it’s just always been home. Least I like is probably the lack of support for local minority businesses, artists, entrepreneurs, ect. People from here don’t receive enough support from their people from the same city. I’ve seen it, felt it, heard it. That part alone sucks. Oh! And the winter. I hate the cold.
