Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Gross.
Katie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
By the time I was 20, I had been in 12 car accidents, as you can imagine, I had a lot of aches and pain in my body. I felt like I would never be able to comfortably move my neck again.
I went to chiropractic school primarily to work with pregnant women and children and along the way, I learned about specific upper cervical care. While I had been adjusted numerous times with typical chiropractic care my pain kept returning, until I had this specific and gentle adjustment. It changed everything for me and led me to my specialty today.
I absolutely love helping others realize the healing potential that the body has!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
On the road to get to where I am now there were a lot of unexpected detours, exciting adventures and definitely some stressful times. I started my first practice in the Bay Area of California and it was not an easy task. Starting a business from scratch is very challenging and you have to put a lot of hours in.
About a year in, I had an opportunity to move to Dubai, UAE and help to open and run a clinic there. While it was unexpected and tough to leave my patients, I jumped at the chance and had a wonderful experience.
I have now been in Colorado for six years and have an amazing practice. One of the most difficult struggles is taking away peoples stigma of what Chiropractic is. In my office there is no twisting, popping or cracking. It is very gentle and specific.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Performance Chiropractic – what should we know?
My clinic, Performance Chiropractic specializes in the Atlas Orthogonal technique. I work on the very first bone of the spine in an extremely gentle and specific manner. Each adjustment is tailored and measured for only your body. I pride myself on listening to my patients and not getting them in and out the door.
Due to the location of the Atlas bone, I see mainly migraines, headaches, brain injuries, and chronic/acute neck pain. One of the goals in my office is to stabilize the body so you have the ability to hold your adjustments and not have the need to come back again and again.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
First I have two amazing women working in my office who run the show and keep me on top of things. They make my life so much easier!
I believe that behind every successful person you will find a coach, I happen to have two. They have been in business for a combined 65 years and have helped me every step of the way. There have been struggles to overcome certain weaknesses or figuring out how to move forward and grow the business. They have been instrumental in guiding me and pushing me outside my comfort zone.
Of course, my husband and family for always pushing me when things get difficult as well as celebrating my wins.
